Jesus' Baptismal Place CNY CATHOLIC CALENDAR
When our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647-1690), He gave her the special task of spreading devotion to His Most Sacred Heart, at a time when religion was growing cold in the hearts of mankind. Jesus also indicated that this devotion would be a means to reconcile us in the end times by establishing his reign over our lives and in our hearts. The Nine First Fridays devotion is associated with one of the 12 promises that Jesus made to those who are dedicated to devotion to His Heart:
“I promise you, in the excessive mercy of My Heart, that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Friday for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance; they shall not die in My disgrace nor without receiving their sacraments; My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in that last moment.” — Our Lord to St. Margaret Mary How do I complete the First Nine Fridays? Receive Holy Communion, while in a state of grace, on each First Friday of the month. The nine Fridays must be for nine consecutive months. The Devotion must be made in honor and in reparation to His Sacred Heart. How do I make an act of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus? Any time that you offer up a small sacrifice, overlook an irritation or commit some hidden act of kindness with the intention of consoling the Heart of Jesus and making up for the ways that He is mistreated, ignored or abused by humanity, you are making an act of reparation. Throughout any given day, you will have countless opportunities to do this and it will fill your life with purpose and draw you nearer to the Heart of Jesus. You can also say a special prayer, such as the Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart or recite the Litany of the Sacred Heart or other prayers with the intention of making up for wounds inflicted upon the Lord’s Heart by sin, neglect or blasphemies (acts of contempt or lack of reverence toward God.) · A Plenary Indulgence is the complete remission of all temporal (bodily) punishment due to sins already forgiven upon performance of three conditions: Confession, Communion and a prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father, (Our Father, Hail Mary.) It may be applied to oneself, or a departed loved one, It cannot be applied to any other living person and can only be gained once a day.)
