St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.   Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.   May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.  Amen.

The prayer to St. Michael was composed by Pope Leo XIII after he had a vision.  Read the explanation in the highlighted link.

Pray the St. Michael Chaplet with Mother Angelica or use the print copy at EWTN.

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe
Our Lady of Guadalupe, we ask you to intercede for us so that we may more firmly resolve to join you in protecting human life.  Let our prayers be united to your perpetual motherly intercession on behalf of those whose lives are threatened, be they in the womb of their mother, on the bed of infirmity, or in the later years of their life.   May our prayers also be coupled with peaceful action that witnesses to the goodness of all human life.   O Virgin Mother of God, patroness of the Americas and the unborn, present our petitions to your Son and ask Him to bless us with abundant life.   Amen.

Renewal of Family Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Picture
When the Sacred Heart of Jesus is enthroned in a home, a family makes an act of consecration to Jesus.  From then on, it is appropriate to renew this consecration regularly, even daily.

Most sweet Jesus, humbly kneeling at Your feet, we renew the consecration of our family to Your Divine Heart.  Be Thou our King forever.  In You we have full and entire confidence.   May Your Spirit penetrate our thoughts, our desires, our words and our works.  Bless our undertakings, share in our joys, in our trials and in our labors.  Grant us to know You more, and to serve You without faltering.
By the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Queen of Peace, set up Your kingdom in our country.  Enter closely into the midst of our families and make them Your own through the solemn enthronement of Your Sacred Heart; so that one cry may resound from home to home:  May the triumphant heart of Jesus be everywhere loved, blessed and glorified forever!  Honor and glory to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
Sacred Heart of Jesus, please protect our families.   Amen.

What is coming

The CNY Catholic Calendar is setting up a page with prayer and Scripture that we hope you will find useful and spiritual fulfilling in your journey with Our Lord.  We will be building a site for people to pray together for an intention.   There will be links to the USCCB for the daily readings and selections for the daily Catholic One Year Bible for your own reading and prayer time.   We also will put devotional prayers out that we have found to be meaningful and spiritually enriching.   Please keep coming back to draw yourself closer to Jesus and Mary.
